Direct Cremation Service

Unattended Cremation, or "Direct Cremations" are becoming increasingly popular, and for good reason. Some families don't want the "fuss" on the day, they would just prefer a quiet and respectful cremation to take place, and then often choose their own way to celebrate their loves ones life in their own time afterwards.

The level of attention from ourselves is the same, and all the same options of having your loved one dressed, spending time in our chapel of rest with them, if you wish, still apply. Everyone is treated the same no matter if they are opting for a big full-service send off, or a quietly dignified unattended cremation.

Sedgemoor Crematorium will allow a small attendance inside the chapel for 5 minutes to say goodbye for an additional fee of £250.

We will hand deliver the ashes back to you, or you can collect them from our office a few days after the cremation has taken place. There is a flat fee of £1,250 to pay, with no extras to be charged by us. A full breakdown can be found below.

Arrangements for a direct cremation can take place entirely remotely if needed.

-24 Hour Support and Advice

-Conveyance of your loved one to our private Chapel of Rest situated within our Staplegrove Offices.

-Care and Preparation of your loved one, including dressing in their own clothes.

-Chapel Of Rest available for viewing or small service

-Dedicated Director to visit you at home or you can visit our offices in Staplegrove Road, Taunton.



-Oak Veneered Coffin (Upgrades available)
